About the Grand Forks Senior Center
Living on the "Brighter Side of Sixty" is living life to the fullest. It is meeting new people. It is going new places. It is trying new things. It is helping others. And, sometimes, it is receiving services that help you remain independent at home. The mission of the Grand Forks Senior Center is to provide opportunities for older adults to live to their full potential.

The Grand Forks Senior Center has been serving area seniors for over sixty-five years. We are committed to providing quality and cost efficient activities, programs, and services for older adults. Our staff is professional, caring, and trustworthy. Consider us your area reference for anything you may need to lead an independent, meaningful, and dignified life in your own home and community.

Nutrition
MEAL DRIVE-THRU SERVICE - The drive-thru meal service, for all individuals 60 and older, operates Monday through Friday from 11:30 am - 12:00 pm at the Grand Forks Senior Center (620 4th Ave S). You may pick up for family members, neighbors, friends, etc. You will need to fill out a nutrition form for each senior getting a meal and we will issue you key-tags, so that you can scan a barcode every time you come through after that. You DO NOT need a Grand Forks Senior Center membership in order to receive meals.

SENIOR DINING - Sitting down and enjoying weekday breakfast and lunch together has resumed at the Grand Forks Senior Center. Breakfast serves from 8:30 am - 9:00 am. The noon hot meal serves from Noon - 12:15 pm. People can stay later to enjoy their meal and visit.

FROZEN MEALS - Frozen meals are also available for people 60 and older. We ask that you call your frozen meal order in ahead of time to 701-757-4869. The meals can then be picked up during the meal drive-thru time (M-F, 11:30 am - 12:00 pm) or at the front desk during work hours. We update our frozen meal inventory on a daily basis. Check out our current list of frozen meals before calling. Arrangements can be made for delivery of frozen meals if necessary.

SUGGESTED DONATIONS/PAYMENTS for Drive-thru, Sit-Down, or Frozen Meals
If you would like to contribute to your meals (this is optional), you can mail us a check (indicate on the memo line ‘meals received’) to Grand Forks Senior Center, 620 4th Ave S, Grand Forks, ND 58201 or drop off cash or a check in the meal drive-thru or at the front desk. You can also call 701-772-7245 with your credit card or EBT card information. Suggested donation is $2/breakfast, $4.25/noon meal, or $3.50/frozen meal. PLEASE NOTE: If you hand us a check in the drive-thru or you mail a check in a Meals on Wheels envelope, we will assume you are sending in a meal contribution. This means it will NOT be listed in the Silver Express newsletter and it is NOT tax-deductible because you received meals for the money you are contributing. However, if you would like to make a donation, designate that on the ‘Memo’ line of your check or send a note with your check so we know your intentions.

MEAL DELIVERY PROGRAMS - The Grand Forks Senior Center’s two meal delivery programs, Meals on Wheels and Home Delivered Meals, continue to provide hot, weekday lunch to seniors delivered safely by volunteers in the City of Grand Forks, ND. If you are interested in learning more about meal delivery, call Roxie, the Meals on Wheels coordinator at 701-757-2006. She will be able to advise which program will work best for you.

Health
Caring for one’s feet is an important part of a person’s overall health. Foot care at the Grand Forks Senior Center (GFSC) includes a foot assessment, nail trimming, callus or corn care, foot care education, and referral if needed. The GFSC employs licensed nurses, and the majority of their time is spent attending to our customers’ foot care needs. As agility and vision issues become more prevalent in older age, caring for one’s feet becomes more difficult.

Individual appointments can be made by calling 701-757-4878. A person can also sign up at one of the foot care clinics in the region. Clinics are advertised in the Silver Express newsletter each month. For homebound older adults, our nurses can provide foot care in the home.

All Grand Forks Senior Center Health Department services are provided on a suggested contribution basis. Seniors are encouraged to pay what they can afford. Federal, state and local funding help make up the difference.

Foot Care - Office Visit: The suggested contribution for 60+ is $30
Foot Care - Home & Rural Visits: The suggested contribution for 60+ is $35
